Hello, my name is Jared Meyer, I graduated from Washington State University in May 2018 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Digital Technology & Culture and an English minor. I specialize in video production, am a hard worker, and take pride in all of my work. I work well with a team and have experience shooting and editing video and other digital content for H1 Unlimited Hydroplane Racing Series since 2016. I am looking to use my skills to help people with their multimedia needs.

Here is a little background about me:

As a kid growing up in the Tri-Cities area of Washington State, I always had a passion for video. Whether that was shooting video with a camera, editing, or just watching it. Even when I did not have a camera in my hands, I would try to see things as if they were in a frame. This passion stayed with me from my childhood through high school as I continued making videos as a hobby and began taking photos with a small Sony point and shoot camera. During my senior year at Richland High School, I got the opportunity to create a highlight film for the school's basketball team and it was during this time that I realized that I wanted to make video production my career. I attended Washington State University and while in college joined the H1 Unlimited Hydroplane Racing Series' media team, creating video content for H1's social and web platforms. I continue this work for H1 Unlimited today, traveling the country promoting the sport via video.

 

I am a hard-working, goal-driven individual who takes great pride in my ability to tell stories through a camera lens. My perfectionist quality is one that drives me to keep learning every day and treat every project as if it is the most important thing I've ever done. I strongly believe in the motto "If you do what you love every day, you won't work a day in your life." This is what inspired me to expand my hobby into a career. I work great with others, believing that constructive criticism is important to success. I am also always willing to help others and attribute my time playing sports growing up to forming these qualities.

My goal is to find a company to work for that can utilize my strengths in video production or photography. I can join a business's digital marketing department, work for a media production company, or anyone else that would like to utilize my creative skills. I have gained experience working alone on projects while in school and while I developed my passion growing up and have the ability to solve problems. I also enjoy working as a part of a team and have experience working with people from my time with H1 Unlimited and in school.
